Biography
| Anna Nicole Smith was an American model, an actress and a buxom blonde celebrity who first gained popularity as Playboy magazine's 1993 Playmate of the Year. Her highly publicized marriage to the oil business executive and billionaire J. Howard Marshall who was 63 years her senior generated a great deal of speculation that she married the octogenarian just for his money which she strongly denied. After his death there was a lengthy and ongoing legal battle over her share of his estate and her case, Marshall v. Marshall reached the U.S. Supreme Court in February 2006 on a technical question of federal jurisdiction. Her career and public image subsequently suffered because of her weight gain and her antics which were reported in the supermarket tabloids and in her own reality television series, "The Anna Nicole Show" (2002-2004). She recently slimmed down to her former shape after losing 70lbs and became the spokeswoman for the weight loss product "TrimSpa" |
